Physical Therapyworks was started in 1996 by John Dravillas, PT, MTC, OCS, because John was dissatisfied with the compromises that were occurring in the health care field. These changes—including shortened treatment times and rampant and inappropriate delegation of treatment to aides and assistants—were economically driven in response to changes in the insurance industry. John wanted to create and work in an environment where the emphasis is on what is right for the client. Physical Therapyworks is the realization of that goal.
John Dravillas, PT, OCS, MTC is the owner and director of Physical Therapyworks, as well as Director of our Post-Professional Orthopedic Residency Program. He is a graduate of The Program in Physical Therapy at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, class of 1986. Washington University is consistently ranked among the top three physical therapy programs in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.
As part of John's professional education, he has been shadowing renowned Orthopedist John Itamura, M.D. over the past three years to further his clinical understanding and skills in regard to shoulder and elbow dysfunction. John also has taken Continuing Education classes so far above the norm that it triggered an IRS audit. He has attained advanced standing as a Certified Manual Therapist (MTC) from the Institute of Graduate Physical Therapy and is also a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. John is also a mentor at the USC post-professional residency program and was recently nominated for the Henry O. and Florence P. Kendall Practice Award.
In his younger years, John played football, basketball and ran track. He currently enjoys workouts ranging from Pilates to boxing, and has been a lifelong yoga enthusiast and meditation devotee.

While at Ithaca, she earned both Academic and Athletic All-American honors while competing for the varsity gymnastics team. Her personal experiences with physical therapy as an athlete, combined with her desire to help people, resulted in a natural career choice of physical therapy.
Since moving to Los Angeles and having two children, Alison became dedicated to helping woman before, during, and after pregnancy, and beyond. After the birth of her children and her subsequent certification in Obstetrics, she realized how little education women are typically given at this important juncture in their lives and how much physical therapy can help these women.
